Born in California but raised in Portland, OR. Cherry began modeling in 2005 when a photographer snapped a photo of her that later ended up on the cover of Ol' Skool Rodz magazine. She has since been extremely blessed with opportunities that enable her to travel the country and not only transform faces, but lives too!
You travel the world doing Makeovers and photo shoots! Where has been your favorite place to visit so far, and Why?
Edinburgh, Scotland is probably my favorite city on my travels. Just so well preserved. So much history! The UK in general is my favorite because I am a big Tudor and general English history nerd so it's like Christmas there.
If you could describe your style in three words, what would they be?
Unique, Vintage, Funky
What songs are you playing while on the road?
As many different ones as I can! I get so tired of the same type of music all of the time, so I am always changing it. Right now I am listening to a lot of Leon Bridges, Bag Raiders and We Were Promised JetPacks.
Name a piece of vintage / vintage inspired clothing that you can’t live without.
Vintage 1950s bustier tops! They are so hard to find in good condition and I haven't met a reproduction that fits quite the same.
What's your beauty/fashion philosophy?
No rules!! If you like a color, a technique, a style or whatever, that isn't popular or "proper"... Who cares!! My philosophy is that I dress and style for me!
What's something interesting about yourself most people won't already know?
I just did a 10 fun facts video on youtube that shows most of the lesser known ones!
Which of your own values would you want to instill in the next generation of women?
Kindness to each other and ourselves. I think women should empower each other instead of competing with each other. And along with that, they should empower themselves as well. It makes me so sad when I give a gal a compliment and she answers with a dig at herself. I think women should be able to go "Hey wait! I am fabulous!" And not be seen as self centered or vain.
What's been your Greatest achievement so far?
Traveling the world! I never thought my job would take me to so many far reaches and would allow me to hug so many hot babes of so many different races, sizes, ages, backgrounds and countries.
What obstacles did you overcome in order to achieve that goal?
Self doubt. I was scared to make the leap into making this my job, but I did it and I was brave and it paid off!
Most valuable advice from mom...
Mom always told me to be myself no matter what. And also not to take anyone's shit. That has helped immensely as a female business woman :)
What's the rest of 2016 have in store for you?
I leave for my UK tour in a few weeks. Fall tour in Sept/Oct. I am working on a book and a clothing line with Iron Fist for next year. Still buying and selling for my vintage store on Etsy.
